Short stories, novellas, and a novel. The Long Beach Literary Arts Center, Running Wild Press, and Gatsby Books is pleased to present a mini-lit fest featuring newly published RWP authors. Eight authors, along with RWP’s founder and editor, will present readings along with two panel discussions on the creative writing process and publishing.

Grab your book, Kindle, or magazine and join your neighbors and friends for some quiet reading time. We pop our heads up now and then to chat, but then it is back to reading. Silent reading parties are a great way to dedicate time to read and mix-up our reading habits. This is a free event but please come prepared to purchase food or drink at the hotel bar/cafe. Reading parties meet the 4th Friday and go dark in November & December. Last party of 2019 will be on October 25.

Welcome Queers Books and Culture club, or QBC! Danuta Janiszewski and Mary Kern started this new bookclub over a cup of coffee at the end of January, and had their first session on February 26th. Their first book was bell hooks’ All About Love, and at any session, you’ll find anywhere from four to 12 people.
